Looking back at this blog, brought up many memories of who I was a year ago, 3 years ago...

So much time have passed and the phrase "Never change" means nothing to me now. We are always in  a constant state of metamorphosis. We are always changing and things that happen always continue to define us and shape us. Our thoughts and ideals change over time and experiences. 

I like to read about the past. It's like looking at someone else's life because I don't resonate with that person anymore. Yeah, it was me. A different me from who I am now. When I was younger, people did these "profile survey" things where you had to copy and paste a whole chunk of questions and answers someone did and tagged you in, edit your answers in, tag a few other people and post it up. Then the people you tagged would continue the chain, so on and so forth. 

I recently just got a full time job (I just started it 3 days ago) and today is my off day. I am really bored though so I thought I would come take a peek at this dusty blog I have long abandoned. Anyhow, found this "profile survey" I did at 16, then re-edited last year and now I am going to re-edit it again and still leave my original answers inside so both you and I can see how much I have changed over time.

As long as they are genuine, they are true and undoubtedly my friends.  Many of my friends come and go and that is part of life. 26. What did you do for your last birthday: 2011 was a long time ago but if I am not wrong I went out for dinner with 3 good friends  Celebrated it at church camp. Was surprised with a little tub of ice creamby everyone I love in church.  Still church camp. This time the camp was in a hotel and my mother's attempt was a huge failure when we bumped into her carrying a huge cake. It was nice having a few people from church that I know and love hang around till 3 am in the morning in my friend's suite playing games and catching up. It's hard to see each other so much when we are all busy with adulting in life.

Hi, how have you been? I've been a lot busy with the countless dinners I have been having out with my friends and in my free time working. So pretty busy but I have great news I want to share.

Things are going a lot better around here. I am not as stressed as I was before about my workload too so that is fantastic! In fact my supervisor cut down a lot of my work so that I can cope after I shared with her my struggles with having so many big projects under me when I am officially leaving soon.

Also, I am going to start the countdown to something really exciting. THE END OF MY INTERNSHIP!!! Not that I have no more school obligations/ requirements/ whatnots after the official internship is over but a 2500 word essay about my experience? Easy. (Well, easier than all this definitely) Once that is in, I am out of school forever!

I am not going to be coy about it. I am afraid of the future. In school everything was easy and provided. I never had to worry about being an adult yet I was treated like one. Things are going to be so different. I am not only going to be treated like an adult but I am also going to have to behave like one. On that note, I also need to stock up on more presentable clothes. I have been cycling through the same few nice shirts, pants and dresses throughout my internship and I am going to need more than that. Kissing the comfort of sloshing into lectures in pajamas and slippers goodbye is one step I am quite apprehensive to take but it was going to come anyways so there wont be a point in complaining about it. Besides, I know I need to rid all that for the exciting life and future I am promised.

Hence, I am looking up and trusting everything on my sovereign God. Also, I am excited about the life that is awaiting me. It's going to be scary but all so riveting at the same time.

It has been TWO YEARS since anything has gone onto this blog.

Actually, I have not been THAT busy but like I said in my previous post, I was considering letting it die off. I do have some drafts, I just never felt like blogging anymore. The only reason why I decided to revive this is so that I can slack off in my internship looking busy. Typing away like a crazy maniac pretending to hit deadlines. It's a good thing my desk is positioned at such an angle that literally no one can peek at my computer screen. In fact, I am also in control of the refrigerator and the printer. So maybe secretly, I hold more power in the office as an intern than my colleagues would admit.

Isn't it funny? If you read this and follow it by my last few posts, it is almost like a time machine. Transporting in time with me in sudden bouts of time. Within the last year itself, I was employed to my first job, went on 2 internships, had my room renovated, turned 18 and broke up with my 4 year long boyfriend. So, a lot has happened and I have grown up a lot I suppose.

Well, as you already know, I am currently slacking off at work and I chanced upon a post on facebook that seemed interesting. You know, those chain posts where you have to share about your life and such then tag 10 more people to continue the chain?

It's been over a year since I last posted anything here but I'm back!

I know it has been awhile and I definitely have no excuses whatsoever for myself but I really have nglected blogging for a very long time.

I'm not sure if I should keep it alive or let it die off completely.

Its 1246 am and I'm confused about what I want to do with this for now so I think I am just going to throw it out there for myself as an idea and if I do revive it, I really hope it would be good.

Im so incoherent right now. I really need some sleep. my friend says he swear someday Ill die from exhaustion so well, goodnight everyone.

bored to pieces

Ok I have never been so bored. So i used my webcam to take a picture up close and edited the whole picture to focus on my eyes. Its sposed to look mysterious and everything, but i dont know...

Beyond the flat.

Sometimes, I just want to disappear. You know, just grab a camera, passport, cash, clothes, a backpack and my phone, just disappear. Buy some plane tickets to where no one can find me (unless I want them too), get a local pre-paid phone and give the number only to people I want to find me. Just drop everything and disappear.

Do you know how amazing that would be? Not having a care in the world, doing what you want and what you like. Seeing the world's most majestic things, wackiest things. Maybe even give myself a fake identity. I could be ANYONE. Alright, so you know what? Im going to go to my facebook friends list, close my eyes and pick 2 random names. Ill use their first and last names (ill pick again if the first name belongs to a guy).

Here goes. My fake identity name is.... *drum rolls*.... VIVIAN KOH! Taken from "Chua Wan Ting Vivian" and "Daphne Koh.". I swear I did not cheat. If I did, I'd rather come up with whacky weirdo names like "Ray Oh Sunshine". Sunshine would me my "chinese name" although i got to  find away to become chinese-ish I could tell everyone my age was 21, so they won't assume I'm a lost kid and send me to the police station. I would tell them I'm from Singapore and having a backpack trip around the world to meet new people and that I was studying in the UK. Id tell them I lived in London (unless I really was in London then I'm studying in Chicago, USA) I'd be studying Anthropology in Brunel University (London). Or else, Visual Communications in Loyola University (Chicago). If anyone asks me how the college is like or that they're from there too, I'll either wing it or RUN. If they asked for my number or something stupid like that, I'll give them a fake one. OR, I would just give them some other random creeper's number I picked up. Yeah, that would be hilarious.

Sigh.. if only i could just disappear. Even if for a week. It would be amazing. Just forgetting all about my responsibilities here in Singapore. Exams, projects, chores, my mom.. EVERYTHING. Maybe I'd fly to Wyoming, meet Nick and maybe he'll teach me how to operate a handgun (sounds fun actually) and we could drive to some random state and escape everything together. Just the two of us roasting marshmallows laughing, dancing, exploring and God watching over us. Perfect.

P.S: I forgot one other item to bring. A sleeping bag! Just in case.

Strange addiction

Fact about me: I love watching television

There is this show called "My Strange Addiction" and it features people with weird addictions like marrying their dolls (really?!) , eating toilet paper, eating soap and playing with hair from the shower drainage. Not that  I want to judge them, but THAT'S DISGUSTING! Get like a normal hobby. Who cares if it's boring and wont get you famous on television. Go collect some stamps, old books, collect coins, whatever. Just don't DON'T do things that give people shivers!

Marrying your doll? Seriously? Are you really that deprived of sex or normal human women just hate you. Then again, maybe a doll isn't such a bad idea. Men are always complaining women are naggy and we talk to much, well, a doll wont. On the other side though, dolls cant make you sandwiches!

I dont know what to say about eating toilet paper... I mean I have done it but it was a dare when I was in Primary school. So I really don't get why that 20+ year old woman would enjoy it. To be honest, as much as I can remember, the toilet paper didn't taste as nice as burgers. It didn't even taste good.

Yeah... so after watching the show, I decided to list down some of my "normal-but-kinda-strange" addictions.

Here goes.

1. The sound of tearing paper
2. Popping bubble wrap (like as if that is strange)
3. Smelling new/ old books. 
4. Touching glossy paper
5. Cleaning people's mess, but not my own.
6. Microsoft excel sheet (admin work feels pretty therapeutic to me)
7. Mixing paint (or anything for that matter. as long as colours change)
8. Feeling textures.
9. Cracking my neck
10. Laughing at people

There probably isn't anymore since I stopped thinking at 9. Wrote 10 cos it seemed appropriate. 10 seems like the magic standard number of lists and questionnaires. Just a thought.
